How to Part Your Hair According to Your Face Shape

Forget make-up contouring and shadowing to accentuate your facial features. Turns out a simple update to your part can elongate your features, soften sharp angles, bring out your cheekbones, and so much more.

Here we’ll discuss how to part your hair according to your face shape.

Round Face Shape: Middle or Deep Side Part

If you’re looking to give the illusion of length and create symmetry for a round face shape, the ideal part line is a deep side part or part down the middle.

We recommend that you don’t add to many layers with a round face shape. Only add enough to slim the face.

Square Face Shape: Side Part with Bangs

If you have a square face shape, a soft, swoop or side swept part with bangs will help add softness.

Since the sides of the face are often straight, we recommend an extra-deep side part to elongate your features. However, we caution not going too deep as this will accentuate the angles of your square face.

Oval Face Shape: Any Part

If you have an oval face shape, you’re lucky! Oval faces can pretty much pull off any hair part. Deep side, middle, side swept…the choice is yours. Play around with your part and have fun!
